My Trike Building Page 4

  • Front End Finished

The front forks, lighting and turn signals are all done. It was a long time coming but it is getting there. That is my 37 Chevrolet Pickup in the background, another project not finished. I have since traded the pickup for a 1979 Harley Davidson Shovelhead. It has a 2005 S&S engine and has never been run. The trike in the left side of the picture is the next one to be done I will post a finished picture.

  • Back Quarter View

The back end is finished, Fenders and tailights are hooked up, The tombstone tail light give it a good look. Turn signals are mounted on top of the inside of the fenders.

    Tires and Wheels

The tires and wheels are installed. I used BF Goodrich,Radial TA's, Size,245/60/R15. The front wheel is a 21" no brake rim. The combination gives me a good gear ratio. At 2700 rpm's I am doing 55 in 4th gear. I think later down the road I will get a front wheel that will take a disc brake. It would be good for holding on hills and things like that. Also I want to change the rear disc brakes to add emergency brakes.

  • Just in Case You Forgot What it Looked Like. Snicker Snicker........

  • Latest Project Completed

This is the last project that I have completed got it done the last part of march of 2005. The gentleman that owns is disabled. So we constructed special pedals for him to use with his prosthesis, The pedals roll with the foot. This trike is a rebuild, it sat in a berry patch for many years. About 12 or 13 I think. This is what it looked like when it arrived at my friends shop for the rebuild. That was after the engine was removed and most of the leaves and berry vines had been cleaned up.

  • COMPLETED TRIKE

well its done, he likes it and said it is more that he expected. The paint is Deep Cranberry Pearl, over Pewter, with Yellow flames and orange tips. This is my first complete paint job by myself. It is a long way from what showed up in my shop after we brought it home from my friend Wayne's shop. Ben has since passed due to complications from diabetes. See my tribute to him on the front page.

  • Wayne's Trike

This is the trike I helped build for Wayne the fellow I bought my starter kit from, this is based on a Crazyhouse style with some changes. Frame is built from 1 1/2" square tubing. Wayne has since sold this trike, but at times it appears that he wishes that he had not. He is riding the old blue trike I first saw him on. He has a project in the works, but it will be a while before he finishes it. Since I wrote the web site. Wayne has gone through several trikes and is again building an new one. The old blue trike is now in Alaska.
