PANDA Z! He's pretty darn cute, but you'll have second thoughts
when his fists shoot out and remove one of your eyes!! ANYWAY...
He stands at about 13.5cm tall (with the little panda pilot
in seat) & an arm span of about 14cm (with fists on). He's
about 70% diecast. His head, torso & legs are diecast. The
cockpit in side the top of his head is soft but solid rubbery
plastic, as is the little panda pilot, who is in a non-poseable
"i'm controlling a giant panda robot" pose. He has
a button on his back which protrudes 2 doors from his chest,
which you unfortunately have to pull out & open to reveal
a missile which unfortunately doesn't shoot out. So its a bit
useless, except for like the ultimate pose. His legs are solid,
but are very stricted in pose. The leg/hip joints only move
from left to right about 20°. His knee joint has 2 clicks
of about 45°. His ankle joint has a ball joint, but if you
have the legs as far apart as possible his legs are too chunky
for the ball joints to be of much use, but you can make him
balance on one leg... which is pretty cool... it looks funny
too :) He only has one joint on his arms at the shoulder which
has 6 clicks of about 220° of forward & backwards rotation
& 90° up & down smooth rotation. The plastic arm
ends at his elbow where a latch & button are located. The
rest of the arm is in the form of a clenched fist which is spring
loaded. You click it on, push the button & BAM! NO EYEBALLS!
There are two positions to lock the fists on. One where the
arms are outstretched in front with his thumbs facing each other.
The other being the arms at his side & thumbs are facing
the front. He has a neck joint too, rotating on the Y axis,
meaning no tilt is possible. He also has a pitiful magnet on
his back which "helps" attach his solid plastic (like
his arms, except for the tail wing which is that rubbery plastic)
rocket wings.
The Pros & Cons:
Cons: He has very limited poseability & the poseabilty it
does have seems pointless as you cant get very many poses out
of him. The buttons to fire his fists are in an annoying position
as I have many times accidently pressed them while trying to
move his arms & BAM! NO EYEBALLS! The button on is back
is essential to keep his rocket wings connected to his back
as the rocket wings are moulded to the shape of his back &
if the button is pushed in the wings are very loose & a
little knock might/will shake them loose.
Pros: He is very cute & for his size, his black & whiteness
will stand out on anyones shelf [unless you have a shelf of
only black & white stuff]. He is very detailed & i can
stare for ages looking at the soles of his paw feet. HE HAS
ROCKET FIST FIRING PUNCH ACTION!!! Either one fist at a time
or the ultimate simultaneous rocket punch taking both your younger
sisters eyes out with the one hit! :P
He's not for everyone I admit, but as a newbie collector of
giant robot toys & as my second "chogokin" I like
him a lot. I couldn't imagine a robot collection without a Panda
Z.

Heres the glorious box of the gorgeous black eva that I have
in my hot little hands. All I can say is GO BUY ONE NOW! If
your a fan of Eva & like collecting you can't go past the
quality of the Bandai Soul of Chogokin's. Here are my pro's
& cons: Its not that big (only about 18-19cm tall), but
its not humungous so you can fit more of them on the shelf :).
For its size its surprisingly heavy and almost dropped it the
first time i picked it up. Its heavy because its practially
almost entirely diecast, so its 'strong' and feels solid to
handle. Its pretty well articulated pulling off all the poses
on the box without any trouble & a couple more I did myself.
Although as you play with it you'll find that if could have
been a little bit more poseable. I know I'm asking a lot, but
it would be cool if it had like perfect articulation (in other
words bending like a human could bend). Also I would have liked
the hands to solid and each finger poseable, instead of interchangeable
ones. The closed plastic hands grasp around the gun handles
perfectly though. The entry plug is pretty cool, however when
you press the eject button the entry plug fires out! Since when
did the entry plug act as a projectile! I almost lost an eye
because of this. Its spring loaded for some stupid reason. Maybe
thats why they gave you 3 entry plugs (just in case you loose
em). It comes with a nifty stand aswell. Its a bit dodgey though.
It works good in theory, but to get you eva to stand perfect
in it, you have to have the arms and legs all bent at specific
angles for him to balance and stand without falling over or
looking crooked. All the weapons (bazooka, javilin, axe) attach
them selves to the stand. The only weapon that I have problems
with is the javilin, because it only have one loop to slot it
in. So it tends to fall on an angle and look wrong. Other than
all that GO BUY ONE NOW!!! lmao

I stumbled across this beauty while browsing the collectionDX
site. It looks pretty cool and it has pretty good articulation,
but I think its a bit top heavy. Unfortunately I can only find
it on the US Ebay (not the Australian one) so I'll have to wait
until I get my own Ebay account (& not use my girl friends
fathers one ;P)

Lego Tachikoma & Fuchikoma
|
I think this is called Snake Eye, dunno... it kinda reminds
me of the mech suits that were seen The Second Renaissance Part
2 in the Animatrix shorts.
|
I got these pics ages ago, but I forgot to post em... its a
change from the overload of GGG mech.
|
These are some of the other mecha that belong
to the GGG universe. The orange one on the bottom right is that
giant hammer that you sometimes see the main GGG mech hold. |
Not as cool as the pics below, but still good... especially
the Energy Liger!! [from left to right, blade liger limited,
energy liger, liger zero holo armour & liger zero]
|
Liger Zero with 3 of its armour upgrades: Jager,
Panzer and Schneider. |
Black Ox whom I think comes from the Getter stuff. A simple
yet very cool looking robot.
|
Some pics of the lion GGG and the box of the GGG final mech,
which I must get my hands on :)!!
|
Another mecha... i'll need to look up its name...
|
GaoGaiGar Final Fusion!!!!
|
The clear model compared to the mini version,
plus various poses. Also the box that contains this lil spider. |
|
This guy is absolutely awsome! Love the Gunsniper.
I can't describe his work in words so you'll have to look
at it for yourself [check out the Panzer
Liger] |
Oooo CG pics of Metal Gear Solid's Rex.
|
Some more models from some convention.
|
Can't remember where I found these.
|
There is a new Eva model that has
topped all others... This baby is diecast and fully poseable...
mmm bendable and hard as a rock, what more can you want... It
even has the progressive knife and my favourite pistol - the
desert eagle.
|
From the Votoms series is Shadowfox,
probably the coolest looking one of them all.
|
From the brilliant
mecha game series Front Mission from Squaresoft, are model toys
of some of the mechs. Drool... |
