This might be the earliest drawing of what became the final version of Maiko. His hair has changed just slightly since this, but otherwise this is the epitome of how I imagine him. You may be asking yourself "Final version? What? There's a version before this?" My answer to which is heck yes. Now, if you're wondering what he looked like before...

The very first image of Maiko ever was almost identical to Locke of Final Fantasy 6. Spooky, no? The version after that had purple eyes, but the hairstyle you see here. Then I went through a crazy phase and gave him spikey blond hair, which was really really stupid and then, and only then, did he become what we see here. Right here. The only things that have remained constant in his character (appearance-wise) were his narrow (almost girly) eyes, impressive height, less-than-impressive build (he's embarassingly skinny -- like me), his crazy-lookin' sword, and the witch's hat. The silver hair would be on this list were it not for that spikey catastrophe...

Oh yeah, bear in mind that these changes took place very slowly. I created this guy when I was nine years old. It's taken eight years to get to this point...
