OFFICIAL RULES

 

 

Article I: Structure

 

 

        A.  Format, Platform and Basic Laws:

 

 

a.   The league is to be administered online on the Yahoo Fantasy Football platform.

 

 

                                    i.   All scoring, statistics, standings, player availability, trades, injury status, game action, player waiver status and the like are handled by Yahoo and Yahoo will be the final arbiter of the above.

 

 

b.   The league will consist of an even number of franchises in one overall conference.

 

 

c.   Each franchise will field a team consisting of no more than fifteen players.

 

 

d.   No owner can have a financial stake in more than one franchise.

 

 

                                    i.   A single franchise can consist of multiple stakeholders. 

 

 

                                    ii.  Only one owner will be recognized per franchise for the purposes of league communications, financial obligations, conduct and player personnel.

 

 

e.   The regular season will coincide with Week 1 – Week 14 of the NFL regular season to be immediately followed by three weeks of playoffs coinciding with Week 15 – Week 17 of the NFL regular season.

 

 

                                    i.   Eight teams will qualify for the playoffs. Playoff tie-breaker will be best regular season record vs. opponent wins. 


                                   ii.   There is no reseeding as part of the playoffs. 

                                       

B.  Commissioners Authority:

 

 

a.   The Commissioner has the sole and absolute authority to investigate and to take appropriate disciplinary or corrective measures if any act, nonparticipant interference, or emergency occurs which he deems so unfair or outside the bounds of accepted behavior that such action has a major effect on the result of a game or makeup of the league.

 

 

        C.  League Revenue:

 

 

a.   League revenue is derived from entry fees. 

 

 

                                     i.  The annual entry fee is $100

  

 

                                    ii.   There will be no transactions fees (i.e. add/drops/trades) this year.  

 

 

                                    iii.  There will be no fees for losses in head-to-head matchups from Week 1 – Week 14.                   

 

 

b.   ALL MONIES ARE DUE PRIOR TO THE DRAFT date mentioned in Article II. A.  

 

 

        D.  Action:

 

 

a.   Action is on one structure, the Traditional Standings (hereinafter “standings”). 

 

 

                                    i.   Action on the standings is based upon head-to-head play and will be finalized after the completion of the playoffs.

 

 

                                    ii.  Payouts will be as follows on the standings based upon 100% of the total league revenues as calculated at the conclusion of the regular season:

 

 

1.   1st place will receive $600; 2nd place will receive $292; 3rd place will receive $208; 4th place will receive $100; in all totaling $1,200.

 

 

2.   Ties are not possible for purposes of the standings. In the event of a playoff game ending in a tie score, Yahoo will determine the winner based upon their established tie breaking procedures which will be treated as fully legitimate and final.           

 

  

Article II:  Draft

 

 

        A.  Date

 

 

a.    The draft date and time is Monday, August, 28, at 8:30PM Eastern. 

 

 

        B.  Selection Order

 

 

a.    The selection order will be determined randomly via Yahoo prior to the start of the draft. 

 


        C.  Format

 

 

a.   The draft selection order will be announced by Yahoo prior to the draft. The selection order is closed and final at this time and no changes can be made through any type of transaction.

 

 

b.   The draft will follow a snake format.  Each owner will have 1 minute, 45 seconds per selection per round.     

 

 

c.   If an owner fails to make a selection in their allotted time the autopick feature will assign the best available player according to the Yahoo ranking available on that date.

 

 

d.   Each owner must select 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR/TE, 1 WR/RB, 1 K, 1 DEF and 6 BENCH PLAYERS who can come from any position. Please see Article III on Scoring.

 

 

Article III:  Personnel and Scoring

 

 

        A.  Personnel

 

 

a.   Each franchise shall accumulate points in their head-to-head matchups based upon the performance of their players that they have started in a given week.

 

 

b.   The only player positions that shall be scored for any purposes whatsoever are the starting players at QB (1 player), RB (2 players), WR/TE (3 players), WR/RB (1 player), K (1 player) and DEF (1 team). 

 

 

        B.  Points

 

 

a.    Offensive players at the positions of QB, RB, WR and TE can accumulate points in the following manner:

 

 

                                    i.     Passing Touchdowns = 4 points

 

 

                                    ii.    Interceptions = -2 points

 

 

                                    iii.    Completions = 0.25 points

 

 

                                    iv.    Passing Yards = 1 point per 25 yards

 

 

                                    v.    Rushing Touchdowns = 6 points

 

 

                                    vi.    Rushing Attempts = 0.25 points

 

 

                                    vii.   Rushing Yards = 1 point per 10 yards

 

 

                                    viii.   Reception Touchdowns = 6 points

 

 

                                    ix.    Receptions = 0.50 points

 

 

                                    x.     Reception Yards = 1 point per 10 yards

 

 

                                    xi.    Two-Point Conversion = 2 points

 

 

                                    xii.    Fumbles Lost = -2 points

 

 

                                    xiii.   Offensive Fumble Return Touchdowns = 6 points

 

 

                                    xiv.   Pick Six Thrown = -2 points

 

 

b.   The K and players normally designated at the position of QB, RB, WR or TE can accumulate points in the following manner when playing in a special teams scenario:

 

 

                                    i.     Return Touchdowns = 6 points

 

 

                                    ii.     Field Goals 0-39 yards = 3 points

 

 

                                    iii.    Field Goals 40-49 yards = 4 points

 

 

                                    iv.    Field Goals 50+ yards = 5 points

 

 

                                    v.     Point After Attempt Made = 1 point

 

 

c.     A defense can accumulate points in the following manner:

 

 

                                    i.     0 points allowed = 10 points

 

 

                                    ii.    1-6 points allowed = 7 points

 

 

                                    iii.   7-13 points allowed = 4 points

 

 

                                    iv.   14-20 points allowed = 1 point

 

 

                                    v.    Sack = 1 point

 

 

                                    vi.    Interception = 2 points

 

 

                                    vii.   Fumble Recovery = 2 points

 

 

                                    viii.  Touchdown = 4 points

 

 

                                    ix.   Safety = 2 points

 

 

                                    x.    Block Kick = 2 points

 

 

                                    xi.   Kickoff and Punt Return Touchdowns = 6 points

 

 

Article IV:  Player Transactions:

 

 

        A.   Waiver Structure and Rules                 

 

 

a.   All players dropped from a franchise are immediately placed on waivers for one day, with the exception of Gametime - Tuesday weekly waivers, which will give all owners an opportunity to try and claim those players.

 

 

b.   The league will utilize Gametime - Tuesday weekly waivers.  All unowned players will be placed on waivers at the scheduled start time of their game with the claim period ending at 2:59am (Eastern) on Wednesday.  After this time all unowned players that did not have a waiver claim put on them will become free agents..  In Game Time waivers, players on a bye week will be place on waivers Monday night at 5:30pm pacific time.     

 


c.   The league will use a continual rolling list administered by Yahoo! to determine waiver priority.

 

 

        B.   Trades

 

 

a.    All trades must be executed in good faith in accordance with Rule V.C.

 

 

b.    Only two teams can be involved in any given trade.

 

 

        C.   Free Agent Acquisitions Limitations

 

 

a.    No team may acquire any players via free agency whose team plays a game between Wednesday and Saturday in that week after their game has started.  Those players, though not designated as such by Yahoo!, will be viewed by the league to be on the waiver wire immediately following the start of their games.  Teams who wish to acquire a player affected by this rule must wait until the weekly waiver period has begun to submit a claim.    

 

 

b.   Any team which violates this rule will have the transactions voided by the Commissioner.

 

 

D.  Deadline for Transactions

 

 

a.   The deadline for all player trades is immediately following the conclusion of the final game played during Week 14 of the NFL regular season, after which all Franchises will only be permitted to a acquire players via free agency or the waiver wire system.

 

 

Article V:  Force Majeure, Fair Play and Sportsmanship

 

 

        A.   Force Majeure

 

 

a.   The league requires all owners to use their best effort to see that each game is played in fairness, defined as setting a complete roster prior to the start of play. The league recognizes, however, that a force majeure impacting the personal safety and/or well being of an owner may arise that make fair play impossible or inadvisable.

 

 

b.   If an owner declares an emergency situation for their franchise it is the responsibility of the owner to contact the Commissioner where one of the following courses of action shall be implemented:

 

 

                                    i.   The appointment of a caretaker owner appointed by the affected owner that will have all of the rights and responsibilities of the affected owner. The affected owner shall be held liable for all action and transactions made while said owner has a caretaker acting in his name. The affected owner shall resume his duties as owner upon the passing of the declared emergency.

 

 

                                    ii.   The shift in responsibility of setting a weekly roster to the Commissioner. No transactions can be made under this scenario. All roster changes shall be dictated by the affected owner to the Commissioner and the affected owner will be held liable for all action and transactions that the Commissioner is expressly instructed to make.

 

 

1.    When Rule V.A.b.ii. is enacted, the Commissioner will advise the full ownership of the league as soon as possible.

 

 

        B.   No Protests

 

 

a.   The authority and measures provided for in this section (Force Majeure, Fair Play and Sportsmanship) do not constitute any type of protest machinery for any franchise to dispute the result of a game or application of a rule. The Commissioner will conduct an investigation only to review an act or occurrence that he deems so egregious or unfair that the positive nature and spirit of the league is compromised or acts of collusion are suspected.

 

 

        C.   Fair Play and Sportsmanship

 

 

a.   Owners are obligated to act in the best interest of their franchise at all times. All transactions will be executed with the intent of improving the franchise or its standing within the league.

 

 

b.   Owners may not drop players from their roster for any reason other than improving their own franchise or its standing within the league.

 

 

c.   Owners will not make any roster moves whose sole purpose is to hamper the play of other owners.

 

 

d.   Owners will not take any action whose purpose is to interfere with fair play in a league in any way.

 

 

e.   Acts of collusion are expressly banned.

 

 

f.    The assessment of any penalties will be at the sole discretion of the Commissioner. Violation of the above acts may result in the franchise(s) in question being locked out of the league, incurring penalties up to and including forfeiting points and/or wins for a particular week if said acts adversely affected the outcome of a game, and expulsion from the league.

 

 

        D.       League Communications

 

 

a.   Official communication with the Commissioner and from the Commissioner to owners will be via email & Yahoo messenger platform from the league main menu. Any and all other methods of communication are not official. The appropriate address for the Commissioner is evanbbalaban@gmail.com
