If you're a fan of WWE, TNA, RING OF HONOR or professional wrestling in general, then welcome to ORION SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENT PROMOTIONS, a "wrestling promotion corporation" in charge of running two fantasy wrestling based on the rules and gaming system set forth by the CHAMPIONS OF THE GALAXY and RING OF HONOR WRESTLING CARD GAMES, published by Filsinger Games. Played by hundreds of thousands worldwide, the COTG and ROH card games combine the elements of the old-fashioned "paper and dice" role-playing games with the popularity of collectible card games. Each wrestler has his or her statistics on their very own card, complete with finishing moves printed in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. Only two 6-sided dice are needed to play.
The CHAMPIONS OF THE GALAXY WRESTLING CARD GAME-based promotion Interstellar Independent Wrestling (or IIW) began in 1999, under the name Galactic Championship Wrestling (GCW), and is made up almost-entirely of wrestlers I've created (with the exeption of a few that were downloaded from the official Filsinger Games ProBoards discussion board to help balance out the roster). This league operated briefly in "this time period", because in 1999 (the year 2110, in COTG-Time), the United Federation of Stars and Planets (aka, the Federation) was about to shut down wrestling, believing that it was breeding violence amongst planets (rumors ran rampant that wars between some planets were actually begun due to feuds taking place between one world's stable of wrestlers and another world's stable in the GWF and CPC). So the GCW stars travelled back in time to the "present day" and re-activated their league.
The promotion was re-named Heavenly Wrestling Association in 2002, as my way of paying tribute to my favorite local promotion, Heartland Wrestling Association. In fact, two of my self-created female wrestlers are based on two females who worked for the Cincinnati, Ohio-based promotion, Tina Ambrose (the inspiration for Aphrodi-Tina) and Helena Heavenly (the inspiration for Helena of Atrocia, also no longer working for the company, and whose "ring name" inspired my re-naming of the league.)
In November 2125 the Heavenly Wrestling Association was forced to close its doors, due to financial mismanagement by then owner/promoter Vincent Shawn Helmsley (created as a tribute to WWE owner Vincent McMahon and COO Triple H), an alleged descendant of a famous wrestling promotion family (He would be Triple H's great-great-great grandson, in "COTG-game" time) who eventually had to file for Chapter 13 bankruptcy, forcing him to sell the company in order to pay of his creditors. The company was bought by one of GCW's old sponsors, PitsiCorp (makers of Pitsi Pop, "the soda with 1/2 the carbonation for more of that great cola taste. Pitsi Pop - Half the fizz, double the whiz-bang), who re-named the promotion Interstellar Independent Wrestling in order to "distance itself from the personal and financial failures of its previous owner". Recently, the IIW merged with the Rings of Saturn (ROS) Wrestling promotion, and their most recent pay per holo-view, [i]WAR OF THE WORLDS[/i] Dated Card #2128-35 (as in, the 35th card of the 2128 game year) saw a new Rings of Saturn Heavyweight champion crowned.
The RING OF HONOR WRESTLING CARD GAME-based promotion RING OF RESPECT WRESTLING or ROR) is set to begin official operating in March 2127 (In actual time, it's set to begin in March 2013. In order for "promoters" who wish to play their ROH and other Filsinger Games sets that are based on actual wrestlers and teams in "COTG-Time", the games' creator Tom Filsinger, once offered the explanation that all of the actual wrestlers are clones that have been developed and reside on a planet known only as "Cloneworld". Samples of each individuals' DNA were collected by time-travelling scientists who used various techniques to collect their samples, including wearing special undetectable gloves so that they could shake a wrestler's hand.) This promotion consists almost entirely of wrestlers and tag teams who've appeared in the RING OF HONOR wrestling promotion, which operated in the United States in the 21st century. Some wrestlers and teams (but not all of them), just like in ROH, follow what's known as the "Code of Respect", which calls for the shaking of hands before and after the match and respecting the referee at all times.
I've been a loyal Filsinger Games customer since 1989, when I bought the first three editions of the CHAMPIONS OF THE GALAXY WRESTLING CARD GAME and own every edition up to the GWF SUBVERSION 2122 set, as well as the first six editions of the LEGENDS OF WRESTLING (LOW) CARD GAME, when financial difficulties kept me from buying any more editions. I hope to one day buy the remaining sets and special edition cards in order to catch up all of the old storylines. I also have plans to one day order all of the CHIKARA WRESTLING GAME sets, as well as the LEGENDS OF THE FUTURE, CZW, and NWA-HOLLYWOOD sets, as well as the near-future release of the all-female SHIMMER WRESTLING set.
The secret of the success of the CHAMPIONS OF THE GALAXY, RING OF HONOR, and its other wrestling card games, is that the games' only limit is the imagination of the person(s) playing it. Every game's owner is lovingly referred to as a "promoter" by the games' creator, Tom Filsinger, which is appropriate since they book the matches and decide how their wrestlers and teams are ranked, who deserves a shot at what title, etc. My web page was created to entertain and showcase my creativity, and to help spread the word about the greatest wrestling game since, well, pro wrestling itself.
Yes, that's my actual voice. It may sound sometimes like I'm mumbling, but I've never claimed to be an eloquent speaker. These shows were created using version 4.0 of the Sony Screenblast ACID PRO music creation program and Windows Movie Maker. The commercials featured in these programs were either downloaded from YouTube using a freeware streaming video capture software, or was captured off of my television set using the Dazzle DVC100 video capture device and Pinnacle Studio v10.5.2.2825. In order to post these news shows in a timely manner, I play all of my fight cards at least three months in advance (sometimes even as far as 4 or 5 months in advance) in order to give my self enough time to, in the following order:
Each news program runs anywhere between 30-40 minutes in length, depending on how much news is covered that particular month. I hope to eventually expand the program to 1 hour. (There have been no recent uploads of Wrestle-Rap as of May 2013, due to low viewership.)
