C'don was originally an NPC from Altasaria that was friends with my brownrider R'lon. He had been R'lon's best friend when he lived at home, and was delighted to be Searched by R'lon's sister Mere at age 16. As the third child in a family with six children, he was easy to be over-looked at times because he's a responsible lad like his father. C'don does what he's told and what he sees needs to be done. He's constantly watching everything that happens around him and can come out with some rather astute observations at times. He's a loyal friend, and that includes being nice enough to give them some "hard truths" when necessary, but he manages not to offend while he does it.

He's easy going in nature, but can become rather tense when it comes to things that he cares about. He picks his battles carefully, deciding what's important and what's not with an almost casual manner, although sometimes he ponders what's important for days before he comes to a decision. If it's not important, he doesn't let it stress him, and if it is, then he takes care of it promptly so that it doesn't cause him more stress than he can handle.

He was a bit of a flirt, but not so much so as R'lon. "Casual flirting" he called it. He liked to check out the ladies at a distance and he appreciates a good female form, especially blonds, but he has always been more interested in the mind that goes with the body. He wanted to find someone that will laugh with him, because he believes that laughter is the key to a good relationship, having witnessed this from his parents, and he found a good partner for this in his weyrmate, a redhead named Kylia.

To give him some hobbies and a bit of musical ability, C'don likes to play his panpipes, to go fishing, and can sometimes have a competitive nature. His ambition ever since he Impressed Rudyeanth was to become the Weyrleader, and he worked hard to achieve this goal, knowing that it would take time for people to think that he might be capable enough for the job so that Rudyeanth might actually have a chance to catch the Senior Queen. He was surprised and honored when only two months out of Weyrling training at Storm Fires he was promoted to Wingleader of his own Wing at Rising Dawn Weyr. At age 18, that was quite an accomplishment. It's also quite an accomplishment to become Weyrleader at age 24, which C'don did on May 23rd, 2009.

To start out with, I gave C'don a green flitter named Jezebell. She's the offspring of R'lon and Mere's mother's green flitter Mala. Jezebell is fully grown and has produced multiple clutches over the Turns. Because she was nice enough to lay them in C'don's bed, which is where she was hatched, he was able to provide every member of his family with a flitter, both on purpose and on accident. When Jezebell had her second flight, his three youngest siblings hid three of the eggs for themselves because they knew that their mother didn't want them to Impress a flitter. The remaining two went to C'don's father and his friend Trask, so now every member of C'don's family has a flitter, although his mother was not very happy with that. Since then, C'don's mother won't allow Jezebell to have her clutches there anymore, and the green has taken to hiding them somewhere where C'don can't find them, but this is okay, since green eggs only hatch green and blue flitters, and C'don would have a hard time getting rid of all of the eggs.

C'don has curly black hair and brown eyes while standing at about 5'9". He had number of growth spurts throughout the first few Turns that I played him in order to achieve that height and has an athletic build and a smile that is both quiet and friendly. He prefers to dress in dark blues, browns, and black, as they always accent his hair and eyes.

I won't go into very much detail about his family, because other than D'ae, (who has his own page) they are all NPCs at either Altasaria or Kohen Weyr and I don't play them much. Here is a list of C'don's large family:

Caem - C'don's father, a calm, quiet, and responsible man with a blue flitter he named Caedo after C'don.

Ladona - C'don's mother, a woman with a sometimes fiery temper when need be, and the matriarch of the house. Has a green flitter named Una.

Laem - C'don's oldest brother, has a wife Kariana and a blue flitter Kite as well as son Karaem and daughter Liana.

Aemna - C'don's oldest sister, has husband Makbar, daughters Makena and Baerna, and son Aekbar. Green flitter Geirfin as well.

Donae - C'don's younger sister, lives at Kohen Weyr with her green dragon Okylath, green flitter Leivel and D'yiw, her weyrmate who rides brown Cleth.

D'ae - C'don's youngest brother, is currently a Brownrider of brown Rilvesoth at Rising Dawn Weyrhold, and has a green flitter Speedy.

Emona - C'don's youngest sister, lives at Kohen Weyr with a green dragon named Galeath and a blue Flitter named Bip.

After C'don moved from Storm Fires to Rising Dawn Weyr, he picked up fishing as a hobby and became friends with Jessilee and A'drov. Eventually, through them, he became friends with Kiandra, whom he asked to teach him to cook, and Nial, whom he asked to help him out with some furniture that he needed made for his Weyr. In what became almost a ritual with him, he reserves one night a week where he invites all of his friends over to his weyr to play cards, talk, and have dinner.

To develop his family a little better, since I don't believe that they would be held in stasis just because he is no longer living with them, I decided to do a little work with Donae. I had been keeping track of their ages, and Donae and Daemon were both of an age where they could be Searched and Impress. So I had Donae get Searched for Kohen Weyr (Fort Weyr). After she was Searched, C'don had her visit at a gather that Rising Dawn Weyr was having, and he met her boyfriend, D'yiw, who is the rider of brown Cleth. Apparently, Donae had been going out with D'yiw for quite a while before she'd been Searched, but had been keeping it a secret from the family because she didn't want Ladona to get concerned about her virtue, which she had been since Donae had Impressed Leivel. Donae told all of this to C'don, but didn't enlighten her parents until after she moved to the Weyr as a candidate, because she didn't want to hurt them by revealing the deception.

Donae's Impression created an interesting ripple effect throughout the family. Daemon was openly jealous of his sister for a while, because he wasn't Searched and wanted to be. The parents were reluctant to accept D'yiw as their daughter's love interest because they are under the misconception that this relationship started once Donae reached the Weyr and not before, so they thought she is rushing into a weyrmating with the brownrider and were unsure if Donae and D'yiw's relationship will last through the one Turn ban on sex, since they've heard plenty of breakup stories that occur during that time period. Little Emona was perhaps the only one who was unaffected by all of this, since she was content to let Donae go about her own business and was too young to be Searched at the time and so was not jealous of her big sister.

Time rolled on, however, and Daemon got over his jealousy and pushed his dreams of being Searched to the back of his mind. I basically forgot all about having him Searched until later, and by the time that I did, Emona was old enough to be Searched as well. So I had Emona Searched and she Impressed her green Galeath first. Daemon was all set to settle back and be a farmer for the rest of his life, but I don't like to put any character to a task for which they are not suited, so the plan was always there to have him Searched and Impress.

C'don had an unpleasant time the morning after Emona's Impression when his Rudyeanth caught Donae's Okylath during her mating flight. He was able to avoid sleeping with his sister, and was very grateful that they lived in separate Weyrs, where this wouldn't be a problem all the time. It taught the entire family a lesson, however, and when Daemon was Searched, it was decided that he should NOT stand for Impression at Kohen Weyr in order to avoid the same type of problem. So he was dropped off with C'don to stand at Rising Dawn Weyr and Storm Fires Weyr Hatchings. Admittedly, it must be hard to be a candidate in a Weyr where your brother is the Weyrleader, though. Daemon was there at the Weyr when C'don's Rudyeanth won that fateful flight, and after that, it seemed like he struggled to figure out what he should do. He honestly didn't care what type of dragon he Impressed, but he felt that C'don would be let down if he Impressed less than a bronze. C'don didn't care in the least what his brother Impressed, as long as he was happy, and let him know this when D'ae Impressed his brown Rilvesoth. Although D'ae believes him, he still decided that he would like to move to Rising Dawn Weyrhold when it reopened, and C'don understands his little brother's need to not be constantly standing in C'don's shadow, and allowed the transfer.

It was time to make the family grow a little more, and so C'don and Kylia had their first child, a daughter that they named Cadiona. She has C'don's curly black hair and Kylia's lovely green eyes, and is now a Turn old. So she's running and learning to talk. Since C'don and Kylia are both dragonriders, they had to foster the babe, so they fostered her with Kylia's brother Naler and his wife, who already have a son of their own and live at the Weyr so they can have as active a hand in their daughter's upbringing as their duties permit.
