I have only two letters (so far) about issue one of X-Men 2099, though I have had some nice comments. So let's start with a guy named Chris....

I just finished reading X-Men 2099 #1, and I must say "GO READ IT!!"

I'm a huge 2099 fan! Shoot, I helped start the 2099 UnderGround fan fiction group a few years back, and I even wrote a few issues of X-Men 2099 there. BUT nothing I did compares to this issue. The writer did an incredible job on the entire issue. MAN! I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed it!

I'm really looking forward to the next issue!

Wow! Well, what can I say but an EXCELLENT first issue!

You covered so many subplots in that issue, but yet it didn't get bogged down by them. I'm going fanboy on you here, so bear with me :) I've got some questions regarding 2099:

* Meanstreak, a slave of Garokk? Please tell me Henri's being mind-controlled and that he's back to his normal self in no time!
* will Skullfire return? I hope so, as Tim was my favourite 2099 character, ever since the actual X-Men 2099 #1
* any plans with the Daredevil 2099 introduced in 2099 Genesis or the Moon Knight 2099 from Manifest Destiny ?
* with Shakti being crippled, I hope you can find a way to restore her and her powers!
* are you going to deal with Nostromo ruling Latveria in Doom's stead?
* speaking of Doom, is he dead? are you planning to bring him back?
* what about December, left on Mars by herself? also, did the two X-Nation members really die on the spaceship explosion?
* the last page of the last 2099 WoT has D/Monix recovering Ghost Rider 2099 - are you going to deal with that?
* what about Uproar, who was left adrift at sea, and Wulff, who swam off into the distance - are they going to return?
* I know you had Reed and Sue 2099 in #1, but where are Thing and Torch 2099? will we see the FF 2099 as a team again?

I've got tons of more questions, but those will do for now :)

Also, I went back and reread Manifest Destiny - I noticed they had the Punisher 2099 in space with the heroes, but he died in 2099 Apocalypse! I never noticed that retcon before...

In response to your questions, all I can say is keep reading. I don't want to reveal too much too soon. The problem these days with comics is everyone knows what's going to happen. If an X-Man is going to die, you know who it is months before. I'm old fashioned, I like to keep people guessing. What I will say is that I do have plans for some of the more figurative characters of the 2099 universe. If anyone wnats to go with a character, can they check with me, because I might have something in mind already. There are a lot of people who I won't be touching for a while (if ever!) as this book is going to be predominantly X-Men. But there will be guest stars.
