Review: Led Zeppelin

Led Zeppelin

The debut self-titled album, Led Zeppelin, was released in 1969. The most recognized song off this album is probably Dazed and Confused, one of the most classic Zeppelin songs ever recorded. Truly a work of art there, like all other LZ songs.

This album portrays a much younger side of Zeppelin. You can see that the influences are from much earlier times, then say Physical Grafitti, or even the next album. Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You is a re-make, made better. It has an effect to it that is just awesome. The finger picking techniques Jimmy displays are indescribable. Black Mountain Side also is an instrumental that is spellbounding. It is truly beautiful.

Communication Breakdown is the only Zeppelin song that I don't need to listen to a dozen times over. But I Can't Quit You Babe and How Many More Times make up for that very well.

More to come on Led Zeppelin
