  1. Poor, or no chassis ground on the antenna mount.

  2. Broken, pinched or kinked coax.

  3. Antenna has not been tuned on vehicle.

  4. Loose or corroded connections.

  5. Short or open connections.

  6. Antenna tuned without tip, and then tip installed.

  7. Antenna tuned with tip installed and then removed.

  8. SWR checked with door open.

  9. Excess cable wound into small coil...creates a "choke" effect.

  10. Improper cable length.  If in doubt, use 18 ft.
