~~ Welcome to Southern Michigan ~~
I would like to share the beautiful climate and surroundings of the Great Lake State. I have lived in mid Michigan since 1985. Summers can be very hot and humid, with temps. ranging from the comfortable 70's to 100F. Winter temperatures range from the single digits to 30's and low 40's, wind chills can get into the negative temps, and snow fall averages about 3 feet. Spring and Fall, which are my favorite seasons, range in temps from the 30's to 70's. Photos starting with the top right, is of a strange dandelion. The middle one is a beautiful wetland. A common summer landscape of undeveloped land in Michigan. In spring the wetlands are very alive with peeping frogs, and homes for painted turtles, the state reptile. The bottom picture is of a fungi called Indian Peace Pipes. These fungi were found in Merritt Twp. Missaukee county. |
~~ Interests & Hobbies ~~~~
I enjoy the outdoors: hiking, camping, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, boating, gardening, flying & motorcycling. I also like making soap, maple syrup, natural dyes, and candles over an open fire, and I love photography & videography. I also enjoy sewing Renaissance and 1850's period clothing & volunteer at a 1850's era farm museum. On the other side of the spectrum I'm a flight instructor, and A&P mechanic and work with my husband at an auto repair shop. I also enjoy surfing the net on rainy days and studying Native American culture.
