This is one of the two cheese balls I continually get asked to bring to family get-togethers. I don't know if it's just my family or what. I don't particularly like it, but it gets scarfed
every time. See what you think. NOTE: I double this recipe, but then my family are big eaters.
2 pkgs. (8oz. each) cream cheese
1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (about 4oz.)
1/2 cup minced onion
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 cup chopped pecans
Place cheeses in small mixer bowl; let stand at room temperature until softened. Add onion and Worcestershire sauce; blend on low speed. Beat on medium speed until fluffy, scraping side and bottom of bowl. Cover; chill at least 8 hours.
Shape mixture into 1 large ball or into thirty to thirty-six 1-inch balls. Roll in chopped nuts; place on serving plate. Cover; chill 2 hours or until firm.
Arrange small crisp crackers around large ball and serve as a spread. To serve small balls, insert a pick in each and serve with crackers.
YIELD: About 12 servings
