With Christmas just around the corner, this makes a nice gift giving idea also.
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 Tbsp. water
1/2 cup walnuts
1/2 cup pecans
Butter baking sheet. Combine sugar, salt, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and water in saucepan. Cook, stirring constantly, to 236* on candy thermometer (or until small amount of mixture dropped into very cold water forms a soft ball which flattens when removed from water). Stir in nuts.
Remove from heat. Stir until mixture is no longer glossy. Pour onto baking sheet and spread thinly. Cool; bread into pieces.
About 1 1/2 cups
