What is an iguana?

The Common or Green Iguana (Iguana Iguana), is an arboreal lizard that comes from a vast region extending from South America to Mexico. This lizard is completely herpivorous, meaning that it only properly digests plant material. While many iguanas like "junk food" such as popcorn and various meats, the only food that will keep them healthy is herpivorus foods. Not all iguanas are the same color green. Some have a grayish color while others may have a red one. The Green Iguana can grow to be over 4 feet long! Green Iguanas are not social reptiles, but they can be accustomed to human contact with a little effort and patience. Iguanas are facinating creatures which will add years of companionship to anyone who needs a special friend. It is truely a reward to own a Green Iguana, as well as a great responsibility!
