Longevity

Wild iguanas usually live to be only a few years old. This is due to predators and the destruction of iguana's habitats. However, in captivity, iguanas can live to be over 20 years of age. They are secured in a stable environment, and have humans to take care of their everyday needs. All this of course is assuming the iguana is properly cared for! There is no doubt that an iguana can live longer than most "common" pets.
