We can always see a rainbow
but never where it ends.
We can watch the rivers flow
but not the sea it rends.
What’s beyond the wood fence?
What’s just behind the door?
Not used for just defense,
But to lock in the core.
Love roams free
beyond these walls.
It’s calling to me
a star that falls.
Half wants to flee,
half “family!” calls.
We watch cars roar past
to unknown lands.
Bird fly away so fast
to land in unknown hands.
The wind blow leaves away
they flutter to and fro.
Towards escape I sway,
but is it right to go?
Love roams free
beyond these walls.
It’s calling to me,
"Freedom!" it calls.
There’s so much to see
beyond these walls.
