The Secret of Monkey Island
was the first of the Monkey Island Saga to be released. It was released
in 1990 by LucasFilm. The game, used the SCUMM system to run it's very
graphical environments at the time. The games, starring Guybrush Threepwood,
was a breakthrough for LucasFilm and got a very good public reaction. The
Secret of Monkey Island was a great foundation for the upcoming Monkey
Island Games.
