***March 3rd 2002 Fear Factory Calls It Quits (03/02), vocalist Burton Bell sat the band down in their rehearsal studio to announce his intentions of leaving the band. For whatever reasons, Burton no longer has the want to carry on in Fear Factory. And the rest of the band - guitarist Dino Cazares, bassist Christian Olde Wolbers, drummer Raymond Herrera - do not have the want to carry on with Fear Factory without Burton. After 12 years, Fear Factory call it quits.

***April 3rd 2002 During the first week of January, 2002, while Megadeth was on hiatus, in Texas, Dave Mustaine suffered an injury which caused severe nerve damage to his left arm and hand. It was diagnosed as Radial Neuropathy - specifically, a "compressed radial nerve." The doctors say it will take about a year to make as complete a recovery as he can, and even then, we don't know how complete that is going to be. Dave is working hard with a great team of doctors and physical therapists daily, and God willing, someday Dave hopes to play guitar again. In the meantime, while Dave works on rebuilding his arm, He will take this opportunity to reappraise my career and my future. For the time being he decided to exit Megadeth, and explore other areas of the music business where he might make a contribution without being able to play my instrument. Announced on 4/3/02...

4:20 was not the same this year when people heard the terrible news that frontman Layne Staley of Alice in Chains was reported dead. Cause of death at this time is unknown. He will be missed R.I.P.
***UPDATE: April 22nd, it has been said that Layne had been dead in his home for the last 2 weeks and was just found a few days ago. But because of this, his body was already decomposing, and an autopsy was needed for positive ID... Drugs are suspected in his death, but they are doing tests to be sure...
