Tribal Expulsions May Benefit City.
Recent decisions by the current Tribal Council to remove members of the Tribe from that status may have an unexpected benefit to Mount Pleasant.
Expulsed members of the tribe have recently won a Supreme Court case that stated they have enough evidence to prove a Native American heritage despite not having the evidence necessary to belong to the local Chippewa tribe. This means that these tribespeople, calling themsevles the Uktena tribe may move forward with plans to construct a new Casino on federal land they claim they can prove an ancestral ownership of.
Police Hunt Killer
Local authorities are baffled by a rash of brutal slayings in Isabella county.
Police claim to have no leads in these killings, and while they refuse to discuss details of the case--they will state that any information pertaining to the discovery of slain people left in public restrooms should be brought immediately to the police's attention.
