Here is some miscellaneous bullshit to read. I'm warning you that some of my opinions are just downright rediculess, and somtimes I don't make much sense at all. But I believe what I say, and say what I believe, and always remember, this page is here for me, not you.

The Grammys

Ah, the music industry's must coveted award. First before I go ripping into the Grammys, I want to say that, of course, I would love to win a Grammy and I would accept it with open arms. This year the girls really made an impact. All of the nominees for the top two categories were all female. Ok, so this year all of the "best performers" were women. And 10 years ago they may all have been men. Yeah, so? The thing that bothers me more than anything about the Grammys are the fact that there is a "best male performance" and best "female performance". That's so wrong. True, women and men generally have different vocal ranges, but that has little to do with performance. Can you imagine what the Grammys would've been like if there had been no "best male pop performance" award. The entire night would've been all women on that stage! They gave women so much credit this year, yet they still feel the need to separate.

I hate Mtv

First I want to say that there are for some reason 3 of the most incredible shows on television are on the mtv network. They, of course are shows that are never shown more than once a day and they rarely get the attention they deserve and hardly ever get a "marathon". These three wonderful shows are: Sifl and Olly, the Tom Green Show and Daria. These three shows are wonderful because they are funny, creative, and non-biased. However they do not belong on the "Music Television" network.

I know what you're thinking. "If she hates Mtv so much, but she must watch it all the time because she knows so much about it." Well right now I have the wonderful disease of Mononucleosis where I can do nothing but stay at home and watch tv or read, and there's not much on at 2 in the afternoon but Mtv, besides, I know you watch it too!

Mtv sucks for the following reasons (in no particular order):

1. False advertisement. Music television is not music television. It is video, fashion, gen X, yelling in your face television.

2. Spring Break shows. Each year, for an entire week Mtv shows nothing but 300 people on a beach in bathing suits dancing like idiots. Every single one of these people is of perfect health and stunning to look at. No one is ugly. No one is fat. Everyone looks stupid dancing. Only in Mtv land. They have contests to see who's the hottest. They have contests to see who's the hottest couple. They have contests to see who looks the hottest singing along to the beastie boys. This year, 1999, I actually saw a hint of reality come to that program. During "Spring Break Kareoke" Kid Rock (a celebrity judge) gave a group of charred blondes a "0" for their version of Madonna's Ray of Light. I guess they well deserved a 0, considering they didn't display any talent. Of course Carson Daily tried to play it off like it was supposed to be a "10", but Kid made it extremely clear that it was to be a big fat goose egg. Good for Kid Rock.

3. Road Rules, Real World. What does this have to do with music????? These shows are so boring and repetitive beyond belief! I don't know if they seem repetitive because each episode is exactly the same type of shallow people fighting over the same shit, or because they always show the same damn episode over and over! The people they cast for these shows are the most annoying stereotypical mtv type people ever! I'd like to see a cast with one cranky black guy, with out one white girl who cries all the time. How come they never cast fat people? Fat people are part of the "real world" In fact, fat people make up 51% of the "real world".

4. VeeJays. They tried to change the image of their model-like veejays with a "I wanna be a vj contest" and look what they got: Jesse Camp! Could this guy be any more annoying!?!? Props to Matt Pinfield who actually knows something about music and the people he interviews. But alas, he is an ugly bald man, so let's just put him on at night when no one sober is watching.

That's it for now, I can only bitch for so long…
