Think about it! What if the next time that you were faced with a moral dilemma, you asked yourself this simple question? And, what if our politicians would pose this question to themselves before making public policy (or, in their personal life, or campaigns)! What a different world we would have!
To do right. To love oneself and others. This is the essence and spirit of The Golden Rule.
Everyone has their own beliefs about God, angels, etc. So, sometimes when people start discussing one particular topic and begin splitting hairs, then they go in different directions. But when people do things in a general way that everyone can relate to -- like the Golden Rule, I believe it makes sense to most people. If we start talking karma, some people will run and think of evil or cult when it only means that you "get what you give", or "you reap what you sow."
Everyone has to find his or her own path. There is no "right" way or "wrong" way, it just must be a path that you can understand, relate to, and make progress on, or at least be at peace with; and not be harmful to oneself or to other -- IMHO.
We must also remember, with regards to ourselves and to others, that we are human and each one of us is doing exactly his or her best at any given time, and be forgiving.
To quote my dear friend, Barbara: "I am not Christian. I believe in reincarnation and karma. My husband is Christian--Catholic to be exact--and we get along just fine because we have the same ethics and morals and believe the same general things about life. Religion has never been a problem for us because we allow each other space to be who we need to be. I am happy because I have found inner peace. I know who I am, where I came from, and where I am going. I understand living and dying. It doesn't matter if anyone else has the same belief--I know, so I am at peace. I no longer search for answers. Other people would not be happy with my answers--that's why there are so many roads back home ..."
It's a lofty goal, "the one" I most strive for but will readily admit I do not always live up to. In any case, it is by far the most important thing in my life. The whole world would be a better place if we all at least strived to live by this -- to answer life's perplexities with "how would love respond to this"?
"A Return To Love" by Marianne Williamson is a wonderful book I highly recommend. Marianne's website is http://www.marianne.com/
LOGO
The logo has finally been roughly designed in black and white and now just needs a few finishing touches, and color added! The logo is a beautiful opened gold door with a brilliant sun and it's rays symbolizing God's love and the many paths that can be taken.
