Sarah and I have a lot of fun together - she's very willing and athletic. Did I mention what a sweetheart
she is? You couldn't ask for a kinder, more gentle soul - everyone just loves her! Sarah also passes
her kindness and quality to her foals.
True to her heritage, Sarah is multi-talented. She drives single, double or as part of a team, is steady and
strong enough for farm work, and is a great saddle horse too. When I got her, Sarah had already won
numerous Welsh Pony and Cob Society of America championships and reserve championships in hand
and under saddle. I am not "into" showing,
so I have only competed with Sarah 4 times. We achieved:
WPCSA 1998 North Central Region Champion English Pleasure Sections C&D
WPCSA 1999 North Central Region Champion English Pleasure Sections C&D
WPCSA 1999 North Central Region 3rd Place Conformation, sections C&D
I have used Sarah for Pony Club though mainly we have been concentrating on progressing in our dressage.
We also like to goof off and ride around for fun. Sarah has a lot of "cow sense" and would probably make a
pretty good cutting horse. She is pretty good on sheep and lambs too.
I also trained Sarah to play some SCA Equestrian games: Behead the Infidel, Ring Tilting, and Tent Pegging, but I have
not had a chance to get her to any of the Equestrian Challenge events....
