Star is a very sweet, typey and correctly made Welsh Mountain Pony. He has: ENORMOUS bold eyes, tiny ears, short head with deep, broad cheeks; good, well-set neck and L-O-N-G shoulder; and the most perfect set of legs and feet you could ever hope for. He stands and moves perfectly straight front and rear, has a lovely long, reaching trot and a wonderful uphill canter. Star is a classic Mountain Pony - he looks like a photo negative of his famous ancestor, Dyoll Starlight. Star's pedigree includes the most revered names in the Welsh Mountain Pony breed, including both grandsires, the American Champion Liseter Shooting Star, and the Royal Welsh Champion Clan Pip; Treygoyd Starlight and the wonderful Revel mares, Caress and and Choice. Though Star has NO Section B ponies on his extended pedigree, he does have crosses on both sides to the Section B foundation sire, Tan-y-Bwlch Berwyn, giving Star sufficient leg and good riding action. True to his type and pedigree, Star is an excellent sire of lovely sec. A and Half-Welsh Hunter, Riding, and Sport ponies. He also is siring lovely Section B ponies, especially from large B mares showing too much Arab or Thoroughbred influence.
