My best friend is always there
and to me does nothing but care
He’s short and has long brown hair
but it just occurred to me

A long time ago, you remember,
During the summers I would
go to your baseball games.
You would come to my house
to pick me up and hit me a home run.
Of course I would miss the big hit
but you didn’t care, just as long
as I was there.
But as we got older we grew further
apart. On that day I hate to think about
you teased me at the drinking fountain and
called me names. I went home crying that
day and nobody ever knew.
The years went on, we stopped talking and
tried to let everyone believe that we hated each other,
including ourselves. But only a few months ago
we became friends again, you remember, right?
We went to a Halloween party, just as friends.
When we left there was something more between us.
I know you say it all the time and I don’t
know if I even understand the meaning but
whatever it means...

I Miss You
A long time ago, you remember,
We would stand in the corner of that cold gym
and all you would do is laugh.
You never took of your hat,
because of the chemotherapy
that the Hospital put you on.
But still you never acted as if you cared
even a little bit.
You remember the time you played
that joke on your mum,
When you told her the horses go out.
I wasn’t there but I picture it and can still
hear you laughing.
I know you remember how some kids at school
took of you hat and made fun of you.
You acted as if you didn’t care,
but I knew the truth.
I miss you Matt.
