Chapter 14 (More Than Anything)

“Wake up, Tay. Your brothers and the girls are here.” Tay sat up in the chair he had been sleeping in and took Sarah’s hand. “She’s cold. Is she supposed to be this cold? I mean she’s always cold but never this cold.” Chad walked over to Sarah and felt her hands “I don’t know if that’s ok or not. I’ll go get a nurse.” Chad left the room and Tay thought he had already lost Sarah so he checked to see if she still had a pulse. “Is there one?” “Oh, hi Dr. White. Yeah, she still has a pulse but she’s really cold. Is it normal?” “It can be does she get cold a lot? That happens to patients who are cold often, but if she’s rarely ever cold then we need to check it out.” “No, Sarah’s cold all the time.” “Then there’s nothing to worry about, but remember to keep talking to her. If she doesn’t live at least she’ll hear your voice one last time.” “Ok thank you Dr. I’ll call for you if anything happens.” “Hey Tay.” “Oh hey guys. Zac? Why are you so happy?” Zac raised his and Kylie’s hands that are still together.” “Oh” Tay turns to Sarah and looks down at her chilled hands. “Sarah, hi. It’s me, Tay. I miss you, we all do. I just want to you to wake up so you can respond back to me when I do this...” Tay leans over to Sarah and kisses her forehead. “Ohmigod! Her hands! They just got really warm. Go get the doctor!” Kylie runs out of the room “Dr. White there you are! Sarah’s hands! Tay kissed her and her hands got warm!” Both, Dr. White and Kylie ran back into the room but Megan was gone, she was calling the rest of the family , who was now on their way to the hospital and Ryan, Sarah’s ex-boyfriend who was at the airport waiting to get picked up by the family on their way. Megan ran back into find Tay writing a song on his keyboards, Chad starring out the window, Ike helping Tay with his new song, Amy sitting up in her bed eating, Kylie and Zac talking, and Dr. White checking Sarah’s pulse again.
