Harry Keogh, Fearless Vampire Hunter. My journey with Harry began at his secluded birthplace in Bonnyrig, England. His homebase throughout the series, this is where he takes revenge on his mothers murderer. And a very appropriate, and gruesome, revenge it is! For Harry has been given a very special birth rite - Necroscopism: the power of speaking to the dead. And the dead will do anything for Harry. In another secluded village Harry, now without even his body to aid him, goes against a "new" kind of vampire. For Bodescu was given his vampirism before birth, and can rule men's minds and bodies with his mind. But Harry has a new weapon - the ability to transport himself instantly to any spot, and to speak mind-to-mind with the living and the dead. Since then I've travelled to such far off lands as the Balkan mountains of Rumania, where master vampire Thibor Ferenczy uses Boris Dragosani, member of a secret Soviet spy agency, in an attempt to win his freedom from an unlife buried in hallowed ground. Dragosani learns the horrid art of necromancy from the vampire. Harry is the only one capable of opposing someone who rips knowledge from the blood and guts of the dead. Then it was on to Russia's Ural mountains, where a portal to an entire world of vampires are planning a mass invasion. Then it's off again, this time to the heights of the Balkan mountains. But now a new twist, for Harry has lost his power of deadspeak! The only way to stop Janos Ferenczy is to join forces with his vampire "father", Thibor Ferenczy - the most powerful vampire of all! And now Brian Lumley has come up with another heart stopping trip into the fabulous. In Deadspawn, Harry is after a monster even more horrendous than those he's faced in the past. But Harry has a lot to sidetrack him from the capture of a brutal murderer - like the fact that he himself is becoming a vampire! Thank you Brian, for some of the best horror writing I've ever read! |

For their own amusement, the gods forged twelve Swords of Power and cast them into the kingdoms of men. But they had forged their weapons too well, for the Swords could slay the gods themselves. And with the gods gone and the Swords scattered, men and women and wizards both good and evil were about to contend for control of the twelve Powers. | |
