Trends in Criminal Investigations

• computerization will continue to play a larger role in crime resolution by helping the investigator comb through a great deal of information efficiently and effectively
• large, accessible, crime data bases on local, state, federal and international levels will assist in information sharing and coordinating investigations
• the role of females will increase in criminal investigations
• increased training to enhance competency of investigations
