This is a 52 part series that aired on Japanese Television.
Fushigi Yuugi is the story of a junior high girl who is transported
to ancient China when she and her friend find a ancient book and read it.
I think that it is very similar to "The Neverending Story." The anime is
very character driven and story driven. As one of the characters says, "This
thing is like a soap opera." However, it is extremely funny. I have to say
it, this is my favorite anime.
