Brendan Shanahan
Whoa! Brendan! Not only is he very good-looking, but also very talented. Traded to Detroit on Oct.9th, 1996 from the Hartford Whalers, Brendan Shanahan got here just in time for the home opener."I went out to the rink and put my sweater on, I got there about 10min actually before warm-ups started...." Said Brendan. And Detroit was very lucky to get him. He became a key player during the regular season and the playoffs. He is as Intelligent off the ice as on, he is a very well-read man who often quotes Shakespeare in the lockeroom. His talents are well appreciated here in Detroit, and this is where Brendan belongs. "I was extremely excited to be a part of that (the Redwings) because I knew growing up what a history that town has for hockey"said Brendan about his first game as a Redwing.

Shanny is one of my favorite players in the league because of the person he is, and the character he adds to the team. One of the things that I like about him is the fact that while he is one of the leading goal-scorers in the league, when he does score a goal-his face lights up like it is his first goal ever scored. He really lights up the ice.... For more on Shanny, visit Leah's Shanny Page
