This page is intended to inform you of what is needed for salvation, you will see how easy it can be to get to heaven. It is not meant to scare you, but to instead remove the fear of not knowing if you've "done enough good deeds" to get to heaven. For you will see that it is not the good things you do that get you into heaven, but an acceptance of Jesus Christ, who He is, and what He did for you.
First you need to admit that you are a sinner. We've all done things God doesn't like.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"
( Romans 3:23 KJV)
Everyone is a sinner: "there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not" (Ecclesiastes 7:20).
With God no one sin is greater than any other. They all have the same consequence.
What are the consequences of sin?
Romans 6:23 (KJV) "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
This means that sin separates you from God. When Adam and Eve sinned they brought both physical and Spiritual Death into the world. Now everything, and everyone eventually dies. Read Genesis 3 for more info
1 Peter 2:24 (KJV) "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed."
No. It means that all who Ask for AND Receive the Gift of Salvation He has provided will go to Heaven.
You can not work your way into heaven, or get there by "Being Good."
According to the Bible, there are people who live what we would consider morally good lives that go to hell Every Day!
This is because they relied on their church, or their own actions to save them. Only Christ can save.
John 14:6 KJV
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:"
(Romans 3:10 KJV)
"I will declare thy righteousness, and thy works; for they shall not profit thee."
(Isaiah 57:12 KJV)
"But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."
(Isaiah 64:6 KJV)
If we could "work" our way to heaven, then we wouldn't need a Savior. Jesus would not have had to die in our place. But we do need a Savior because all our good works still fall short of the Glory of God.
We are saved by Grace. Grace is a gift that can not be earned by good deeds.
Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
Faith and Deeds
James 2:14 (KJV)
"What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?"
This verse is telling us that when you have faith in God it will be seen in your works. See Ephesians 2:8-10. It does not say or imply that your good works produce salvation.
Romans 3:27 KJV
"Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law."
Romans 3:31 KJV
"Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law."
"When we confess our sins...God is Faithful and Just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us of ALL unrighteousness"
(1 John 1:9)
You must also make a conscious decision to make Jesus Christ your Lord and your Savior.
"If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be Saved"
(Romans 10:9)
See how easy it is?
If you pray and ask Jesus to save you He will.
All you have to do is ask Him.
There is no better time than right now. Close your eyes and talk to God.
John 3 (KJV)
1 "There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3 "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 "Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5 "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 "That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 "Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8 "The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit."
I have often been asked about people who live in other countries or desert islands. If they have never heard of God, or Jesus will they go to hell?
And there is no way to know that they haven't heard of Christ. God appears to people in many ways throughout their lives. He also sends angels to people. Because it is God's will that "none perish" then we must trust that he has made a way for those people.
We also have a sense of good and right in our hearts.
Romans 1:18–28 tells us that enough of God is revealed just in his creation that there is "no excuse" (verse 20) for not believing in him.
Romans 1:18
"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;"
God also gives us a conscience which shows God's law even in their hearts:
Romans 2:14
"For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel."
God is fair and just. We must trust that he has made a way for all, but also understand that not all accept it.
