Warm up America
Create a warm afghan blanket for someone in need. That's what Warm Up America!
is all about --- keeping people warm. Sound simple? Well, it is, and it works
because you can make a difference whether you complete one small section or an entire afghan.
Crochet or knit one 7" by 9" rectangle (or more). Join your section to 48 others
to complete a full-size afghan or send it to us to join. The original Warm Up
America! afghan resembles a patchwork quilt of many textures and colors. Of course,
you can knit or crochet more than one section or complete an entire afghan in
any pattern or color yarn you wish.

Caps for Kids
Providing needy children with cozy hats to keep them warm is what Caps for Kids
is all about. Nearly one million caps, along with other children's accessories,
have been knitted and crocheted by volunteers since the program began. The hats
are given to non-profit, non denominational agencies in the communities of the donors.

Project Linus - find a local chapter
To date, Project Linus has delivered over 76000 security blankets to children
around the world and has over 270 chapters in the United States, Canada, and Australia.
Originally targeting pediatric cancer patients, Project Linus has broadened its
focus aiming toward seriously ill or traumatized children ... children in need
of a big hug.
Make a blanket and donate it to your local chapter of Project Linus. They will take
it to a facility where it will be given to a deserving child permanently.
Ideal blanket: We need all sizes of blankets, as we deal with children ranging from
neonatal to young adults. Blankets can be made from any pattern, in child friendly
colors, and they must be washable.
