G hook or size needed to obtain 2" motif

Special Stich FPdc (front post double crochet): YO, insert hook from front to back around post of
stich indicated (fig. 4a), Yo and pull up a loop
(fig 4b), (YO and pull draw through 2 loops on hook) twice.

Round 1:
ch 5, (dc, ch 1) 7 times in fifth ch from hook;
join with slip st to fourth ch of beginning ch-5

Round 2:
Slip st in first ch-1 sp, ch 2 (counts as first hdc),
hdc in same space, *work FPdc around next dc, 2 hdc in next ch-1 space;
repeat from * 6 times more, work FPdc around beginning ch-5;
join with slip st to first hdc, finish off: 24 sts.
