"Oh, no! It's 8 o' clock! School started 15 minutes ago!" Trina said as she jumped out of bed and raced to her closet. "Trina, you're up. Good. Your dad and I want to talk to you," Sherri said, appearing in the doorway. "I can't talk mom, I'm already late for school as it is." "You're not going to school today. I already told the school you were ill." "Where's Kar? Do you have to talk to her, too?" "We already talked to her last night," She was astonished! Her own family told her sister and not her! "Come on downstairs. Your father is already waiting," Sherri said motioning toward the stairs. Trina followed her mother and found her father sitting on the couch. He was apparently deep in thought because he was staring into space. "Dad, you wanted to talk to me?" "What? Oh, yeah. You might want to sit down, Trin I have a feeling you win't take this very good," Steven said, still looking distracted. "Ok, I'll start, Steve, and you can tell her the worst." "The worst of what?" Trina asked. "We'll get to that. All right," her mother began, "you know how you always say you don't look like anyone in our family? Well, when you were born, you were put up for adoption, by some people from Tulsa. We adopted you and brought you here, to live in Oklahoma City." "I'm adopted! Why didn't you tell me?" "Well, we weren't going to tell you. But when we Taylor, Isaac and Zachary Hanson were in the magazine, we had to say something," Sherri said. "Hold on, you weren't going to tell me? I'm so confused! Ok, what are you guys saying?" Trina asked. "Well, that's what I'm getting to, Trin. You have a twin brother. His name is Jordan Hanson. When you two were born, Diana and Walker, your biological parents, already had one child, Clarke. And...." "So why did they put me up for adoption? Why not Jordan? Why didn't they just keep me, too?" "They were young, Trina. So when Diana was pregnant, they decided to put the youngest one up for adoption. Soon after you too were born and we adopted you, Walker got an oil mining job. And that's all I know. We ahven't heard from them in 13 years." With that, Trina jumped up and ran to her room. There she cried. After an hour of crying, she decided to find out a little informationon her supposedly twin brother. She went over to her computer and went on-line, She went to member directory and decided to try 'Jordan Hanson' first. No matches were found. Then she tried 'Taylor Hanson.' One of the five matches was 'MMMBop.' The profile looked pretty real, so she tried to locate them and they were on! What luck! So she sent an Instant Message (IM), but they didn't reply. She tried again saying, "I know you probably don't want to talk, but I have a really important question to ask." "All right. I'll talk." "You will? Who are you?" "I'm Taylor. But I can't talk long. I'm updating our webpage." "All right. First of all, what's your full name?" "Jordan Taylor Hanson." Why?" "Hold on. Do you have a twin sister?" "Not that I know of. Why?" "My mom and dad told me that I have a twin brother from Tulsa. His name is Jordan. And I saw you in a magazine, you look just like me and you're 14." "Well, I don't think I have a twin, but you can send me a pic anyway and I'll have my parents look at it. Ok?" "Yeah, sure. Send me one too." "Ok." About five minutes later, Trina found a good baby and was beginning to scan it when her computer said, "You have mail." "Wow! He's fast!" "So, do you see any resemblence?" I asked Taylor. "Yes, it's kind of scary! Show your parents quick and I'll show mine." "All right. Mom and dad, can you come here for a second?" Trina yelled down stairs. Acouple of minutes later, Sherri and Steven appeared in the door way. "What do you want, Trina?" "Look at this picture. It's of Taylor Hanson, a.k.a. Jordan Taylor Hanson, when he was a baby. Am I his twin?" "My parents looked at it, but they didn't say anything, they just walked out," Taylor's IM said, " I have to go work on the web page. I'll e-mail you, k?" "K, bye." "So, is he my twin?" Trina asked her parents. But when she turned around, they were gone. "Oh, well," Trina thought, "I'll find out tomorrow. She signed off, turned off her computer, put on a tank and a pair of boxers and jumped into bed. She fell asleep, woundering, "What would it be like to be a Hanson?"
