Chapter 3

"Come on, Trin. Mom wants you to get up now," Karly said. "Oh, come on! I was in the middle of a really good dream. I dreamt that I really was Jordan's sister, only Diana and..... whatever his name is never put me up for adoption and......" "Well, you can tell me all about it on the way to Tulsa. C'mon! Get your butt out of bed and get a suitcase packed." "Why are we going to Tulsa?" Trina asked, reluctantly getting out of bed. "We're gonna go see the Hansons." "But I don't want to meet them! I don't care if they're my real parents! I hate them!" "Look, I know how you feel....." "No, you don't! You'll never know!" Trina screamed at her sister. "What's going on up here?" Sherri asked, appearing in the doorway. "Mom, please don't make me go!" "Trina, you have to. Now hurry up, we're leaving in fifteen minutes." Sherri walked out of the room, motioning for Karly to follow. It didn't take long for Trina to pack; just the essencials: shampoo, brush, make-up, three sets of clothes, toothbrush, her pillow and, she couldn't forget this, a stuffed dog her grandma had given her when she was born. Then she decided to grab a book and a couple of her best CD's, since it was going to be a long drive to Tulsa. She threw on a pair of shorts and a T-shirt and grabbed some gum and a hair tie. "Ok, mom. I'm ready to go," she said, walking out of her room." "Just in time. We're ready to leave." "All right. Let's go and get this over with," Trina said closing the front door behind her. The ride to Tulsa was long and boring. Trina had her CD player on the whole time so she wouldn't have to listen to her parents tell Karly about the Hansons. When they finally got to their destination, it was about 2 o' clock. "Well, here we are/ My home town of Tulsa, Oklahoma!" Steven was saying as Trina turned off her CD player. It seemed like a nice town, smaller than Oklahoma City, but still big. "So, where do the Hansons live?" Trina asked impatiently. "They live on the other side of town, so it'll take about 10 minutes to get there. They're not expecting us, so they might not even be home," Steven said, looking very lost! "Well, just tell me when we get there," Trina said as she bagan to put her head phones back on. "Not so fast. I want to tell you a little bit about the Hansons," Sherri began, "I don't really know the kids, but from when I met Diana and Walker, I learned that in the beginning they might not be too friendly, but after they get to know you,.... I don't know. They'll act like they've known you all your life." "All right. Thanks for telling me. Just let me know when we get there, k?" "All right, honey." Five minutes later, "We're here, Trin!" "Well, here goes nothing!" Trina thought to herself, "too bad Taylor might be my brother, he is sooo fine!"
