Chapter 4

"Hello!" a small girl said after Trina rang the doorbell. "Hi. Is anyone else home?" Sherri asked. "Yeah, everyone is. Do you want me to get them?" "Would you, please?" "Sure, hold on." A couple of minutes later, eight people appeared in the doorway; 2 girls, 4 boys, and their parents. "Hello, Diana, Walker," Steven said, shaking their hands. "Steve and Sherri, right? It's so good to see you again!" Diana said, hugging Sherri, "this must be Trina. Trina, this is Isaac, Taylor, Mackenzie, Jessica, Zachary, and Avery; I believe you've already met her." Trina shook their hands, kind of. Mackie didn't exactly know what to do! "We told her everything, but I don't think she believed us," Sherri began to Diana, "she just ran up to her room and cried." "It's only natural. I would do the same thing!" Walker said. "Stop it! Just stop it!" Trina screamed, "I'm right here, you know, quit talking about me like I'm not!" Trina turned on her heel and ran off. Even though she had never been to Tulsa, she didn't care if she got lost. "Taylor, why don't you go talk to her, since you're the same age and the most serious," Diana told Tay. "All right. She'll probably go to the park, so I'll wait for her there," Taylor said walking out the front door. When he got to the park, he found Trina sitting under a tree, crying. He walking over to her, ignoring all the girls staring at him. "Mind if I join you?" "Go ahead. It's a free country." "Thanks. Do you want to talk to me about it?" "Yes, but......" "But what?" "I don't know. I guess I'm still in shock. How would you handle it?" "I don't know. Probably the same way you are." "C'mon. Let's go for a walk," Trina said, taking Tay'a hand and pulling him up. "Ok, it'll probably get your mind off this mess." "Don't you mind that all these girls are staring at you?" Trina asked as they walked by a group of girls. "Right now they're not looking at me, they're looking at you." "Why me?" "Cause they're jealous, I guess." They walked all over Tulsa. Taylor did most of the talking, showing Trina where all the good hang-out spots were. "So, where do you go to school?" Trina asked. "Home. My mom and dad homeshcool all of us," Tay said, "well, are you ready to go back?" "I guess so. Then we can find out the truth." About fifteen minutes later, they were standing in the Hansons' driveway. "Ok, here goes!" Trina said, taking a deep breath.
