Chapter 8

Trina woke up to find herself alone in the bedroom. In the distance, she could hear soft music being played. She decided to go down stairs and investigate. She went to the basement only to find Isaac, Taylor and Zac playing one of their songs. "Good morning, everyone!" She said when she reached the bottom of the stairs. "Good morning, Trina. Did we wake you up?" Isaac asked, setting his guitar down. "Yeah, but I have to get up anyway. I'm just glad I woke up to music and not an alarm going 'beeb, beeb, beeb!'" "Do you wanna sing with us?" Zac asked. "I don't sing, but I do play the keyboards." "Well, it must run in the genes, Taylor and Trina, twins who both play the keyboards!" "Yeah, well my mom signed me up for classes when I was five and I've been playing ever since." "Well, come over here and play a couple of songs," Taylor said motioning towards the keyboards. "But I don't know any of your songs." "We have some sheet music made out you can use." "All right. What are we playing?" Trina asked taking her place behind the keyboards. "We'll play MMMBop so we can all play an instrument, Zac on drums, Ike on guitar, you on keyboards and me on bongos." "Allrightyroo. And a 1,2,3,4!" Zac yelled out, hitting his drum sticks together. About 4 and a half minutes later, the song was done and Taylor was very pleased. "You're a born Hanson. Are you sure you've never played that song before? You played almost perfectly!" "I'm sure and thanks. I'm a fast learner." "I guess so. Hey do you want to play some songs in a gig we have tonight?" "Sure, but won't people want to know who I am?" "Probably, but we'll just tell them, for now anyway, that you're a cousin from out of town. Ike, do you think dad will let her?" "Probably, since she's part of the family," he replied. "All right. Let's get back to work so Trin can learn the songs!" Zac sadi impatiently. "OK, we'll take an hour and a half and go rollerblading around. You did bring your rollerblades, didn't you Trin?" Taylor asked. "I don't exactly own a pair." "That's ok. We'll go and buy you some then! My dad gave me my allowance early, so you can borrow some money." "All right." An hour and a half later, they had played threw 6 songs and Trina could play all of them almost perfectly. They put the instruments down and practically ran up the stairs. "Do you wanna wear my blades until you get some?" Zac asked. "No, that's ok, I can use the exercise of walking!" "Suit yourself! But don't complain to me when you get tired. Complain to Ike or Tay!" "I'll remember that!" Ten minutes later, the four siblings walked (or bladed) out the front door. It was about 3 miles to town, but Trina still insisted that she walked. When they finally made it to the store, Trina could hardly walk to the outdoors section of K-Mart. When Trina was able to walk (the guys laughter toward her erdged her on) they went as fast as they could to the rollerblades. Right away Trina found a pair she liked. She found a five and a half in mens and tried them on. They fit perfectly. She decided to wear them out and took the tag off Aftr what seemed like an hour and a half, Zac looked at his watch, "oh my gosh! It's already 1 o' clock. We perform in 2 hours!" "We best be getting our butts home," Ike said turning around, "c'mon, I know a short cut." They returned home around one thirty, did some last minute practicing and loaded the van. "Dad, I forgot to ask you. Can Trina play keyboards at our gig tonight?" Ike asked. "Does she know the songs?" Walker asked. "Yep and she's good too. That way Taylor can play the bongos." "Yeah, sure." The way to the mall was totally silent. Everyone was consentrating on the performance. When they got to the mall, Trina wsa surprised to find the whole parking was still full. Right then, she began to get extremely nervous, the first that night!
