Amber

Amber is one of my closest friends. We met in sixth grade at Crestwood Middle School in 1990 or 1991 when we were both in band together. In seventh grade we played volleyball together on the seventh-grade team, then in eighth grade played doubles tennis on the tennis team until I quit to devote myself to AYSO soccer. Throughout middle school, we also played in a few musical ensembles together.

In ninth grade we started attending East Kentwood High School, and our first experience there was marching band camp at Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. We shared a suite with some other mutual friends. When school started a few weeks later, Amber and I started hanging out more, and besides band we had two other classes together. By the end of our first year of high school, we were best friends, having survived life in the Puppy Pound and a season of Odyssey of the Mind as well as the other hassles of high school life.

We have made it through all of high school and the first three years of college together, and I hope we will continue like this for a long, long time to come. No matter what problem I have in my life, Amber is right there for me, even when we disagree ... which doesn't happen too often. Amber is...AWESOME!
