In June 2003, George performed in two exclusive concerts "with his new band" in ultra-cool jazz club, Ronnie Scott's in London. These two concerts debuted many new songs (at the time), some of which (Kookie Jar, Only Child, Song For A Boy) feature on the bonus CD accompanying George's new autobiography, Straight. Here are the lyrics to the songs that haven't been released (yet), as complete as possible according to many, many listens!

Together Alone

You wanna get deep start digging that hole
Or keep that stuff inside
We wanna believe in God but we've lost our souls
We're takin' our hearts for a ride

Cause we soldier together
Even on our own
Our shoes are pretty and expensive
But they're battered and they're full of holes

I am not the perfect son
Despite the foolish things I've done
Gonna send you a letter from the edge of the night
You need to talk before you run

New York City gets too hot or too cold
And L.A. stings my eyes
In Chicago I had to hold onto my hat
And in Texas I almost fried

Cause we soldier together
Even on our own
We better sing for some money
So we can make her go back home
Mama we're all alone

I am not the perfect son
Despite the foolish things I've done
Gonna send you a letter from the edge of the night
We need to talk before you run

I am not the perfect son
Despite the foolish things I've done
Gonna send you a letter from the edge of the night
We need to talk before you run

I am not the perfect son
Despite the foolish things I've done
I'm not the perfect son
You better talk before I run

I am not the perfect son
Despite the foolish things I've done
I am not the perfect son
You better talk before you run

... snuck off to the city
strung out on razors and slashed black blazers
made all the waiters wild
avoid the waiters
Talking about Monroe and walking on sunrise
New York's a go go and everything takes a break

Cause we soldier together
Even on our own
Our shoes are pretty and expensive
but they're battered and they're full of holes

I am not the perfect son
Despite the foolish things I've done
Gonna send you a letter from the edge of the night
We need to talk before you run

Jerk

This mirror won't oblige or apologise
Creates the drama
Nobody can't harm her
Like she does

She's the queen of self-destruction
Never tempted by corruption
Except the sexual kind
Don't stay all night
And say that you might

How can you call this work?
How can you call this work?
Do the jerk?
What's that?

See some boy who's really fit
With no friends and really thick
Start messing with his mind
Maybe of your greatest hit

Let him tell you that he's straight
Smile like you can handle it
If it doesn't work
Go home alone and do the jerk

How can you call this work? Tell me
How can you call this work? One more time
How can you call this work? Oooh-ooh
How can you call this work?
Do you jerk?

This mirror won't oblige or apologise
Creates the drama
Nobody can't harm her
Like she does

She's the queen of self-destruction
Never tempted by corruption
Except the sexual kind
Don't stay all night
And say that you might

How can you call this work?
How can you call this work? Oooh-ooh
How can you call this work? Oooh-ooh
How can you call this work? Oooh-ooh

How can you call this work? Oooh-ooh
How can you call this work? Oooh-ooh
How can you call this work? Oooh-ooh
How can you call this work? Oooh-ooh

Work it, jerk it, work it, jerk it
Work it, jerk it, work
Work it, jerk it, work it, jerk it
Work it, jerk it, work (repeat x3)

Talking Love

No, there's nothing like addiction what you want it to be
Strange well enough everytime you touch me
Your lips on mine those dreams may be wrong because
It's not you it's me I don't deserve you I know someone please impose

If we're talking love then let's get really down
Drop the bass real low until it's dragging on the ground
Love is a bit like God, you can't prove divine existence
You're so honest you once said now just annoyingly persistent

No, it's not your fault that you became a gutless swine
Is it your turn to pay for dinner or will it always be mine
Steal some flowers from a grave, do something cheap and sweet
An honest gesture is inexpensive, a smile can sweep me off my feet

If we're talking love then let's be really real
If you're using me, do it well, when you're thinking what you don't feel
If you don't feel anything, that's alright, I'm up for being abused
I'm up for anything, yes, it's not like I ever need an excuse

What do you give a man with nothing, well, everything of course
Your heart, your soul, and your mind, every type of intercourse
I don't think I can have anyone, but half of you won't really do
Does it come as such a surprise that I have feelings too?

Are we talking love or are we just having sex
We can keep this simple, but you make it so complex
It ain't rocket science, no, it's quite simple I would say
Oh you're not queer, whatever, like it matters anyway

If we're talking love then let's get really down
Drop the bass real low until it's dragging on the ground
Love is a bit like truth, there's no proof of its existence
You're so honest you once said now just annoyingly persistent

Talking love...
Talk is cheap...
Talking love...

Just needed to know
