He was a normal, sweet young man until a drunk driver took his life
and almost Jon's in the process. Jon laid in a coma for 48 days with a severe closed head injury,
several broken bones, a damaged kidney and a collapsed lung. Jon lives with his mother
where she can provide him with 24 hour care. Jon has trouble doing every day things we
take for granted. This last summer Jon won a silver medal in the Special Olympics,
and has a wonderful outlook on life, despite his condition.
He enjoys Beanies most of all, because of their perfect size, color and cuddliness.
Jon has severe contractures which makes everything twice as difficult to do, but he
is more patient that most.
Jon's family does not have much money for his Beanies, and he said he would
"trade his medal for some Beanies". That is how much he loves them.
He never sleeps alone; he always has at least one Beanie by his side. Please, if you
have an extra Beanie you could give Jon or maybe a few trading cards, or would like
to get to know more about him, please E-mail his mother. Thank you, and God bless!
Jon was a real giver.
He had a big heart, and when it was summer he would go around the
neighborhood and cut lawns for the elderly people and the handicapped
man down the street. He also did the same in winter, shoveling snow. Jon
never asked for a dime, but at times he would be greeted with a cold
glass of tea and some fresh baked cookies, or, in the winter, some hot
chocolate and warm muffins. Jon never wanted any money, he would say,
"That was delicious and more than enough payment. See ya next month!!!"
