If you have an extra beanie, for a collection, a non-mint beanie, TY Trading Cards SERIES I - SERIES II,
or whatever, Jon would be extremely grateful.
It need not be retired, or the most valuable beanie in the world, just something to add to Jon's Collection
or for Jon to hold and cuddle.
Jon witnessed someone come into his home while he was helpless in his bed. This person beat and shot his aunt and best Friend. Jon is very frightened that this might happen again. Jon is so disabled that he can't protect or defend himself. He has use in one hand and has quite a bit less use in the other hand. When Jon first started collecting Beanies, Buddies, Beanie Cards and now McFurbys, and other Mc Donald's Toys, it has helped take this fear from Jon's mind, and it has also given Jon something to look forward to. Because of Jon's disability, he was left with nothing that he is able to do unless it's watching TV or think about the shooting almost all the time. We just wanted to drop it and not talk to him about it and not dwell on it, and maybe it would go away, but Jon slowly changed into a very, very intense angry person! Someone we had never seen Jon become before! Now anyone who had met Jon before this shooting would tell you that "Jon didn't have a mean or Angry bone in his body!" Jon didn't, Jon, is a very loving and forgiving person! Physicians and Mental Health workers felt that getting Jon into something he enjoys along with Beanies would help and it has in a big way and we have all of you to "THANK" ONCE AGAIN FOR BEING A BIG HELP AND BEING HERE FOR JON!!!
Jon and his family are very thankful no one was fatally injured. However, there are very longlasting deep injuries to our Friend and to Jon who can't speak well enough to express his fears so they stay locked inside his mind. Collecting has been a wonderful help for Jon and he has been able to make wonderful friends. When some friends say that they love him and then they disapear and not write or call as they use to do, or come see him anymore like they did. Jon just don't understand and so he blames himself for the friend that use to be so close just not being around anymore and Jon suffers that loss like we would suffer the death of a loved one.
You are welcome to write Jon or his Mom or Aunt at any time about anything including the shooting...
If you can help, please E-mail Jon's mom and let her know. Anything you can do will be appreciated. She can send you more pictures of Jon if you like, or more info, etc.

Thanks so much for this Special GIFT! If you would like to help Jon with the "NEW" SERIES III Trading Cards that are coming up this would be great!!!! You don't have to send bunches of cards, if you would like to maybe put 4 or 5 cards in an envelope... Thank You all so much for all the help with Jon's beanies, buddies, cards & McFurbys..... They all mean so much to Jon. We are "redecorating" Jon's room using all his collectibles and will put pictures on this web site so keep watching!!!!
