Katja was born on Sunday, April 9th, 1978 at 3:15 p.m. Though the circumstances of her birth were anything but favorable, she was very much wanted and loved. Unfortunately she was born with a low birth weight and had to stay in the hospital for two weeks after her birth. This is the only baby picture I have left of Katja, her father took them all at the divorce. In this photo my grandmother is holding her when she was about three months old.
This picture was taken when Katja was about one year old.
She was a very cute, little girl.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Katja. She is playing with the cat of a friend of mine at about the age of three.

Katja was five years old when Janina was born.
Katja on her first day of school. In Germany this day greatly celebrated, and all children are presented with a colorful cardboard roll, usually filled with little toys and candy. This helps "sweeten" this exciting, yet difficult, day for many kids.
