Team Kinetic was created for the 1996/97 season. We had an intermediate team and a teen intro team. The majority of the skaters on the intermediate team, including me, had skated on the Kalamazoo Kommotion's intermediate team the year before where we won the bronze at nationals. At our first Midwesterns we placed first in the initial round and 5th in the gold round making us the first alternate team for nationals. For the 1997/98 season, we decided to move up to the junior division. We also had a youth intro team that year. We had a very dissapointing fall in our short program at Midwesterns, and even though we skated our long well, it was not enough to bring us back to qualify. For the 1998/99 season, we had 3 teams: a junior team, an intermediate team, and a prelimanary team. At Midwesterns in Huntsville, AL, our intermediate team got first place in the silver round!! We were really proud of them! Our Junior team placed 6th in the short program, but came back to get 4th in the long, placing us 4th overall and qualifying us for the National Championships in Tampa, Flordia!! At nationals we had a blast both on and off the ice. While we didn't skate our best programs(we had a fall in short and in long), we still ended up 8th in the nation. This year we are having a Junior Team, a Teen Intro Team, and a Youth Intro Team. Practices started on June 17 and we are looking forward to our first competition of the season in December!!
