This page could, just as legitimately be known as FAQs or Qs & As, but since, in all honesty no-one has ever actually asked me any Dawson's Creek related questions that would be kind of deceptive! Anyway, really this section just gives you all the basic information you need to know about everyone’s favourite teen drama.

What is this Dawson's Creek thing then?: After penning all three Screams and I Know What You Did Last Summer, Kevin Williamson turned his writing talents to something more than slightly different -- and so, Dawson's Creek was born. A ‘story of basic instincts’ which follows the angst-ridden lives of a group of teenagers struggling to deal with the complexities of adult life, whilst still remaining friends. Dawson's Creek (DC) is set in the sleepy, Massachusetts town of Capeside, where three of our principal characters, Dawson, Joey and Pacey have lived almost all of their lives. It’s the arrival of Jen -- and later Jack and Andie which stirs things up, bringing us the poignant tale of Dawson's Creek.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, so what?: Just another melodramatic teen drama, you may say, but no, DC is different. Maybe because it’s straight out of Hollywood, maybe it’s the amazing soundtrack, maybe because it tells life like it is and isn’t afraid to talk about stuff like --*gasp*-- sex. I don’t know, but there’s something special about DC which hooked me and a few million others across the world, from that first shot of Dawson and Joey watching ET in his bedroom.
Where did the idea for Dawson's Creek come from?: DC is described by it’s creator as Some Kind of Wonderful meets Pump Up The Volume meets James at 15 meets My So-Called Life meets Little House On The Prairie! Anyway, DC is actually loosely based on Kevin Williamson’s own childhood. He too dreamed of being a film-maker, worshipping Steven Spielberg, and had a complicated relationship with his own best friend, Fanny.

Where is DC filmed?: Dawson's Creek is filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina, where many other TV shows and movies (for example, IKWYDLS) have been filmed.
What’s the theme tune and who sings it?: Simple question -- not so simple answer! The US and Canadian theme tune is and always has been “I Don’t Wanna Wait” by Paula Cole. However, when it came to the rest of the world, for the first season the theme tune was changed to “Elsewhere” by Jann Arden (a song not currently released). Why? God knows! Then, again for reasons unknown, when the second season was aired the theme tune was changed to “I Don’t Wanna Wait”! Here’s the lyrics to both:-
