AWARDS!
Scholarship Winners Announced!
Robert Smith and Jessica Sievert and Ray Cerdarholm were selected as the winners of the scholarships
sponsored by First of America Bank-Onekama, Huntington Bank, and by our 4-H
Advisory Council. Our deepest appreciation to these banks for their interest
in and support of our 4-H seniors, and also for providing some fine individuals
to serve on our scholarship interview panel!
Our best wishes for a happy and successful future to Robert, Jessica and Ray!!
Leader Banquet Awards!
Our Avisory Council once again put on a fabulous evening filled with fun,
friendship, food, and awards for our leaders and volunteers. The banquet was
held at the Sail Inn in Benzonia. A great time was had by all. Awards handed
out that evening are as follows:
- Friend of 4-H: David Dexter,
Corrine Hahn, Jason Hilliard, Jerry Hughes, Mary Madsen, Loree Stinson, Jeff Westheimer.
- Outstanding friend of 4-H: Tim Bradford,individual and Franz Market, business
- Leader of the
Year: Barb Czarnecki
- Achievment: Lynn Czarnecki
- Leadership:Bob Smith
- Citizenship: Annie Nielsen
Project Area: Jamie Smith for Cat, Lynn Czarnecki for Dog, Annie Nielsen for horse.
Sam the squirrel joined the 4-H craze this year! He will travel through
life with Bobby Smith the first half of the year and then continue his 4-H
experiences with Annie Neilsen. Whoever is in charge of Sam will take pictures
of Sam on his trips and experiences. To date, Sam has gone on a Easter kid run
where he met up with Dan Considine from Wisconsin. Mr. Considine promotes the
goat industry by purchasing meat kids for sale in New York! From there he
went to Ovid , Mi. to Udderparadise Farm where he visited a goat farm.
He has survived an auto accident in which Bob totaled his car. Sam was repaired and was able to attend Bob's scholarship interviews! From there Sam
has also attended Orientation at Lake Superior State University with Bob. Here
Sam discovered the International Bridge, The Soo-Locks, and the Michigan meridian line!
What adventures could Sam be up to next?! We will have to wait and see!
