Monohull

A monohull is what a person would think as a "regular" boat. Like the name implies, there is one, V-shaped hull. A group within the monohulls is the deep-vee type. Basically, the V shape of the bottom of a normal monohull is flatter than that of a Deep-Vee.

A monohull is a great first boat because it is relatively easy to build, setup, and run. A monohull can also handle chop that can stop other types of boats, but is not quite as fast as some of the more advanced boats such as hydroplanes. This is a great all-around boat for the casual or beginning boater, but there are definitely some fast ones on the market as well.
