My Dumas Miss Circus Circus (In Progress)
This is a picture from Dumas Products of the finished hydroplane. Hopefully mine will turn out similar to this :)This is my big project to complete right now. I have been working on it since December, 1998, when I purchased it. This is an absolutely enormous project, because this boat is not made out of plastic, or fiberglass, it's made out of wood. That means hundreds of interlocking parts that need to be glued, reinforced, waterproofed, fiberglassed, and painted to get the finished product. It's a big challenge for me because i have never actually built a boat like this before. But so far it looks great, and I have made no permanent mistakes that cannot be easily corrected. I will update all of you on my progress throughout the days and weeks this summer (1999). Pictures will be coming soon to display my progress. As of July 2, 1999, I am almost done with the basic construction of the hull/deck of the boat. The entire bottom and sides are covered minus one sponson side, and the decks have not been put on yet.
Putting on the decks is not a task that I am particularly looking forward to doing. If you have experience doing this and have some advice on putting on the decks, or any other aspect of building for that matter, please E-mail me. I would really appreciate your suggestions and advice to help me make my boat. Thanks.
