colonies) and white (coli colonies). Also note surface colonies are larger
than sub-surface (elliptical) colonies. Both plates are examples of
well separated colonies.
Figure 3 and 4: Streak Plate Separation of E. coli
and Micrococcus luteus. Note well separated surface
colonies which are easily distinguished.
