Tahquamenon Falls State Park is located in the middle of the east section of the Upper Penninsula of Michigan. It is approximately 1 1/2 hours north of St. Ignace. Tahquamenon Falls actually has an upper falls and a lower falls with hiking trails accessible to both falls and even a trail that connects them. These falls are sometimes called the Root Beer falls because of the copper color of part of the water.
