Seaman

Seaman was Lewis's frisky Newfoundland dog.  Historians thought his name was Scannon.
Once on the expedition Seaman chased a beaver and the beaver bite him and he almost bleed to death.
The Shoshone were astonished with the intelligence of Seaman.  Also some of the Chinooks tried to "dog nap" Seaman.
Seaman was a great help to the Corps.  He guarded the Corps from grizzlies and warned them of charging buffalo.
