Gena Rowlands portrays Birdee's ever-present mother, Ramona Calvert. Her character always has something to say when it comes to any subject: love, life, family, and most of all, putting the past behind you. Ramona has to sit by and watch her daughter go through the hardest set-back of her life, while her own husband is in a nursing home, unable to even remember who she is. This character is a great asset to the movie, and without her guiding words, the movie would not be what it is. |
