Jim's Photo Page - Pt. Iroquois Light

During a recent trip to Michigan's Upper Peninsula, I came upon the Point Iroquois Lighthouse. Located on Lake Superior's Whitefish Bay. It stood out bright and gleaming in the morning sunlight against a clear blue sky.

I photographed the lighthouse with a wide angle lens on Kodak Elite Chrome Extra Color 100 slide film. I used a polarizing filter to saturate the blue sky.

After taking a photo from the land side, I went out into Lake Superior to take a photo from the lake. i wanted to include the rocks in the water so I used a polarizing filter to cut some of the reflections from the water.

Later that day I photographed a Great Gray Owl at Whitefish Point.
